The UAE construction sector has entered 2025 on a strong upward trajectory, recording a 240% increase in project announcements year-on-year. According to BNC Network, the total value of newly announced developments reached USD 9.5 billion (approximately AED 34.9 billion) in February 2025, reflecting renewed investment momentum and the country’s ambitious development agenda.
This surge spans a wide range of sectors — including infrastructure, mixed-use developments, hospitality, and logistics — and signals continued confidence in the UAE’s long-term economic diversification strategy. The trend reinforces the nation’s standing as one of the region’s most active and opportunity-rich construction markets.

Dubai Metro Gold Line Announced:
RTA Begins Procurement Process
Dubai is set to expand its metro network once again with the announcement of the Dubai Metro Gold Line — a new route designed to improve connectivity between older parts of the city and newer residential and commercial zones. The line is expected to ease pressure on the existing Red Line and enhance accessibility across key urban corridors including Bur Dubai, Business Bay, Meydan, Global Village, and Dubailand.
According to Gulf Business, the procurement process is already underway, with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to global firms for the lead consultancy role. The RFP closes in May 2025.
This development marks a significant step forward in Dubai’s long-term vision for sustainable transport, urban integration, and high-capacity public mobility.

Ajman Records AED 9.65 Billion in Construction Contracts During 2024
Ajman’s construction sector recorded strong momentum in 2024, with the total value of contracts awarded reaching AED 9.655 billion — a sharp rise of 62.66% compared to the AED 5.936 billion awarded in 2023.
The figures, released by the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, reflect the emirate’s continued push toward sustainable growth and efficient urban development. The department’s Director-General, Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, credited the increase to ongoing improvements in permitting systems, streamlined processes, and a forward-looking planning strategy that supports high-quality living standards and long-term investment.
Al Nuaimi described Ajman as an emerging model for modern urbanism in the UAE — balancing resident wellbeing with economic opportunity, and positioning itself as a competitive destination for development across sectors
